Panko Chicken Fried Steak With KFC Inspired Potato Wedges

Materials

  • 1 pound Pounded thin cube steak
  • Flour 1 and 1/2 cup
  • 1 tbsp. Crush black pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp. Garlic salt
  • 1/2 tbsp. Kosher salt
  • Italian seasonings 1 teaspoon
  • Rosemary 1/2 teaspoon
  • For Coating
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tbsp. Water
  • Panko bread crumbs 2 cups or as per need
  • For Gravy
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 2 tbsp. leftover seasoned flour
  • Chicken stock 1 and 1/2 cup
  • 3 tbsp. Cream
  • For Potato Wedges
  • 3 russet potatoes

Instructions

  • Pat dry the cubed steaks with a kitchen towel. Season with some salt and black peppers. Rest for 5minutes. Then again, pat dry. Now it's ready for coating.
  • Add salt, garlic salt, black pepper, Italian seasonings, rosemary to flour. Mix and add cube steak to seasoned flour.
  • Beat eggs with water and set them aside.
  • Arrange panko breadcrumbs in another bowl.
  • Drudge steak into seasoned flour and dip into the egg mixture.
  • Then roll into panko breadcrumbs. Press well with your hand heel so that crumbs stick well to the steak.
  • Repeat this method for another steak. Refrigerate for 15 minutes before frying.
  • Heat oil in a cast-iron skillet and fry until golden brown. It will take 3-4 minutes on low flame.
  • Amazing GRAVY
  • Discard oil from the cast iron skillet. Leave 2 tablespoons of oil, add 2 tablespoons flour Use leftover seasoned flour for best results.
  • Mix and cook until the raw flavor of flour is gone and its color changes to yellow.
  • Pour 1 and 1/2 cup of chicken stock. Stir until mixture thickness to your desired consistency.
  • Lastly, stir in 3 tablespoon cream. Unique gravy is ready to serve.
