Chicken Fried Steak Nuggets

Ingredients
  

  • Cubed steak, round steak, or ribeye steak
  • 1 pound Pounded thin
  • 1 tbsp. Crushed black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Smoked Paprika powder
  • 2 tbsp.  Onion powder
  • 1/2 tbsp. Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tbsp. Rosemary
  • 1/2 tbsp. Oregano
  • 1 tbsp.  Kosher salt
  • 2 cups Oil for frying nuggets

For Coating

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Corn flour
  • 1 tbsp. Baking powder
  • 5 cups Potato lays chips
  • 1/2 cup Corn flakes
  • 2 Eggs
  • Buttermilk 1 and 1/4 cup

Sausages Gravy

  • Sausages½ pound 1 cup
  • 4 tbsp. Flour
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/4 tbsp. Salt
  • 1/4 tbsp. Crushed black pepper
  • 1/4 tbsp. Cayenne pepper

Instructions
 

  • Season steak with salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, and rosemary. Cut into 1/2-inch thickness nugget size cubes.
  • Sift flour, salt cornflour, baking powder ina shallow bowl and set aside.
  • Whisk together eggs, buttermilk, some salt, pepper in a separate bowl and set aside.
    Mix crush corn flakes and chips
  • Coat steak pieces in the flour mix, then dip into egg and buttermilk mixture, roll into crushed corn flakes and chips, and turn and coat all sides well. Refrigerate for 15 minutes for best results
  • Heat oil and fry until golden brown. It will take 3-4 minutes. Keep flame low.

For Sausages Gravy

  • Cut some breakfast sausages into small pieces. Add crumbled sausages in a skillet and cook until it gets browned.
  • Add 4 heaping spoonsful of flour to make a roux and cook until it smells like pie crust. (typical roux is 1:1 fat to flour, if you take 1 tablespoon fat, then use 1 tablespoon flour.
    You can also add butter if need but sausage gravy sounds perfect with rendered fat of sausages.
  • After the roux is done, whisk in 1 and ½ cup of milk, bring to a boil and keep flame low. Sprinkle some salt, cayenne pepper, and fresh cracked black pepper. Cook until it is thickened to your desired consistency.
  • Add onions or replace the sausage with bacon, chorizo, or even mushrooms.

Notes

  • If buttermilk is not available, you can prepare it at home. Add 1 tbsp vinegar to 1 cup of milk. Rest for 5 minutes, and here you go! Your homemade buttermilk is ready.
