How to Light A Gas Stove Oven (Easy Operation with Pictures)

Lighting up a gas or electric stove is a plain easy job. I am gonna tell you the easiest way to light a gas stove oven. Adjust, light on & off your oven stove running on gad following easy steps with pictures.

Every stove has a gas line with an on and off valve, mine is left as per my kitchen layout. find your valve of the stove and turn this on to let gas into the stove. Those dials at the front control the flow of the gas coming out the top of the burners.

How to Start A Gas Stove in Kitchen

[STEP 1]

First of all, use one of the right burner knobs, turning this on will now let gas come out of the burner and into the hose.

You should be able to hear a hissing noise up close.

[STEP 2]

Take a long handle lighter or a match and place it near the gas vent, making sure to quickly move your hand away.

If it doesn’t light, wait a few seconds and try again. The gas may just have to work its way through the gas line through the stove.

[STEP 3]

You can adjust the flame with the knob, now go ahead and cook as normal.

How to Turn Off Stove Running on Gas

In order to turn off, simply turn off the dial and wait for the flame to go out. It should hardly take one second to go out. That’s all how you can operate the gas stove and start it with a lighter or match.

Tips & Precautions

• Turn off the master valve of your gas line when you’re done. This prevents gas from leaking from the stove into the hose in the event of a gas line failure.
• Always prefer long handle lighter to burn/light-up stove, this will secure your hand touch the flame.
