Instructions
- Pat dry the cubed steak with a kitchen towel well. There must include no moisture in meat because seasoned flour would not stick to it and fall apart during frying. Flatten steak with a mallet. Buy high-quality meat tenderizer under 10 dollars from amazon. You can also buy pre tenderized steak if you want to skip this step.
- Seasoned your steak with some salt and pepper. Rub well and let it rest for 5-8 minutes. Pat dry again.
- Combine milk with eggs, add tobacco sauce, salt, pepper in a bowl and whisk until all well combined.
- Mix flour with salt, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed black pepper, paprika powder, and cayenne pepper. Sift and set aside.
- Place cubed steaks to breaded flour, turn over, and coat well on both sides by pressing your hands' heels. Then dip into egg and milk mixture. Then back through the flour. A simple way to pat them dry, then dredge, then wet, dry, wet, dry. Refrigerate for 15 minutes before frying.
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet. Add butter. To check the oil's doneness, sprinkle some flour; if it sizzles, then it's ready for frying. Do not overcrowd your skillet. Place 2 pieces at a time for evenly cooking. Fry until golden, and then flip the steak and cook for another 2 minutes. Be careful and flip once so that the breading may not fall apart in oil, and coating may set well. Transfer to the paper towel and cover with aluminum foil. Meanwhile, prepare side dishes that match this delicacy.
For Gravy
- Leave 4 tablespoons of pan drippings in skillet and heat. Add 4 tablespoon flour. cook until golden brown. It removes the raw taste of flour before adding milk.
- Add milk, cream, salt, and pepper. Stir until the mixture thickens. You can also add 1 cup of onion soup mix if you do not like cream.
- Just add 3 tablespoons of onion soup mix to one cup of water and add to the gravy. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add some pan drippings to the skillet once again. Brown some chopped onions, add green beans, salt, pepper Simmer for 15 minutes. It has an awesome flavor like the green beans from KFC.
