I am bringing you another product review, and this time of the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro MCP – 12N Stainless Steel Cookware Kit. We would talk about a few different aspects of this set. We would cover all the possible aspects either positive or negative so that you can have a proper idea to buy this cookware. This review blog includes:
- Number of Items
- Features
- Comparison
- Major Negativity
- Conclusion
Let’s start out with what’s in the set.
Number OF ITEMS
This is a 12 piece set in total. It has an 8 inch and a 10-inch skillet, a 1 and a half, and a 3-quart saucepan. It has a three and a half quart salutes pan. The set also contains an 8-quart stockpot and the steamer insert for the 3-quart saucepan.
This Cuisinart cookware set also has a steamer insert. I had no idea what a steamer insert was. I thought that this may be fit in the 8-quart stockpot. But it doesn’t actually fit in the 3-quart saucepan.
It fits right on top and looks like fondue and you fill the bottom pot with some water. Then you can put a bunch of vegetables or whatever you want in the top steamer.
Put the lid on it like that and be steaming vegetables. So essentially it’s a replacement for something like a classic sort of steamer that you would put in a stockpot or another big pan.
The insert is not triply but solid stainless. It’s a little bit different texture than the rest of the pans but a very nice addition nonetheless. I would prefer that over the pasta insert that you can get with a certain variation of the set that they sell at Costco.
FEATURES AND DETAILS
Let’s talk about some of the features and details of this particular set. First of all, I should point out its very good-looking exterior. Each of these is brushed all the way up till the top lip at which point the last half inch or quarter inch or so. It is actually polished and then if you flip over to the inside of the pan you’ve got a brushed base with a polished wall there. The handle is also polished stainless as well.
So it’s a very good-looking set, it would look awesome if you had the space to display it via hangers over your kitchen island.
WELL-COVERED LIDS
Another feature of this set is the lids that come with the set are enough to cover any of the different pans. For example, the 8-quart stockpot lid will also fit on the 10-inch skillet. The three and a half quart saute lid also fits on the 10-inch skillet or the 8-quart stockpot. You also have a lid for the one and a half quart saucepan. The three-quart saucepan and the steamer insert which by the way also fit on the 8-inch skillet.
So a number of lids that fit on all the different items that you see in the set. All of the pans in the set have a curved lip. So it’s easy to pour liquids off without spilling or dripping down the sides. That’s something that you don’t see in every brand of cookware.
HANDLES CUISINART STAINLESS STELL COOKING SET
Handles play a key role in comfort while you’re cooking. This kitchen craft cookware is riveted onto the pan. They are much more comfortable than a lot of other handles in this type of cookware. I find that the profile of these handles makes them comfortable and easy to control with a bare hand. But it’s also nice that you could grab this with a towel and still have control. Some handles are a little bit too rounded and if you’re trying to grab it with the towel. If you prefer that you lose a little bit of that control.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES TO CONSIDER
These pans are wonderful compared to other All-Clad. Plus, the handles are very nice with an all-time favorite size of the saute pan. They are deeper than standard cookware sets hardly stuck or jump out any sauteed cabbage. However, the pans are not quite as sturdy they function very well. Obviously, a worth buying stainless steel set by Cuisinart at an affordable price.
3 Key Reason to Buy This;
- Best cookware set for making eggs daily and cook dinner
- They stay new and elegant for long run
- Beautiful, solid pots & pans
CUISINART VS ALL-CLAD COOKWARE (COMPARISON)
Let’s compare Cuisinart Vs All-Clad cookware now. The all-clad set is known as being one of the best quality cookware sets. You can get especially in stainless but it’s also one of the priciest now.
We have actually never cooked on an all clad set myself though. But we have held them and compared the feel of the pots and pans in the stores. I would say that if you switch the name on both of these pots and pans, I would highly suggest going for Cuisinart Cookware (MCP12N).
The build quality of the cookware itself is very similar. I find these a little bit more attractive personally. The all-clad set has one of the poorest handle designs we have ever held in all the cookware sets that I tried. Its just kind of digs into your hand actually.
Another thing about the all clad set is that the lips on some of the various saucepans are not curved.
Let’s talk about some of the negatives that come along with the Cuisinart Stainless Steel Cookware Set. There are a few drawbacks that I believe I must share with you. While bear in mind that you can easily troubleshoot these minor issues.
MAJOR NEGATIVITY
Since the set is stainless steel, therefore it does take a little bit more work to get great results. Meanwhile, it also bit more work to clean. The pots and pans then you may be used to with some of your nonstick cookware. So, to tackle this issue I had a habit of preheating my pan before I start cooking. This was something that I never paid attention to but I found better results with it. Though it is a bit additional in your task, however, it is not a big deal once you get used to it.
Another consideration is they say that you’re not supposed to leave salt sitting on the bottom of stainless steel cookware. Because it can pit the bottom of the pan. So it’s something I’m extra cautious about. Another thing to consider when you’re cleaning these pans is sometimes the stuff that sticks to the bottom may be a little bit harder to get off.
But what you want to do is go ahead and soak them with hot water, and you know potentially use a little bit of baking soda or vinegar to help loosen up some of those tough stains. If it’s a really tough stain, then you can go ahead and use something like a bar keeper’s friend which cleans these up really nice. On my personal record, I did cook chicken on my 10-inch skillet, and I intentionally didn’t use the bar keeper’s friend. It left a kind of stain at the bottom, but that was still very clean.
Likewise, it would easily come off with a bar keeper’s friend. So now worry, as being a lad I can do this then anyone can do this little job. Meanwhile, that’s just one more step that you have to do with stainless that you wouldn’t have to do with a nonstick version of cookware. We have heard really good things about the all-clad support where they replace pans easily and quickly comparing to Cuisinart. However, it depends on how concerned you are with your cookware in warranty.
Of course when you get excellent quality and durable cookware set, then you should not be worried about the warranty as much. Well, the negative things I have pointed out are just word of mouth. I would recommend you, therefore, to research well yourself before purchase. There are hundreds of reviews available online, meanwhile, I have given my honest reviews here.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, I must admit that I really like this cookware set. I think the features for the price are great. I paid around one hundred and ninety-seven dollars for it. While you can save up to 6 dollars with No-Rush shipping. So, don’t waste time to add a valuable asset to your kitchen. At this price, it’s absolutely no brainer to go with this particular cookware set. Especially when you’re looking at an all clad set which is $6.99 or more. And that has less comfortable handles and doesn’t have curved lips on all their pieces.
The only downside that I can really say about this set is that I would be concerned a little bit about the extra cost for service in regards to service and warranty. Overall, it’s a really nice set of pans. You’ll certainly get a lot of use out of it and I think if you’re interested in stainless steel cookware you’re going to really enjoy this set.
